Additional Information

Freedom 36 Yachts have the reputation of being excellent sailing boats with interiors the size of 40 footers. The interior finish is hand rubbed oil on Burmese teak. This boat has the 6′ draft, fin keel, that lends itself to better upwind performance and stability.

This well-equipped and well-maintained Freedom 36 was designed by Gary Mull and built by the highly regarded Tillotson Pearson company in Rhode Island.

“FREEDOM 36” As the name implies, the Freedom 36 offers sailors the ease of putting their hands in their pockets when the skipper says “ready to tack”…..the self tacking jib and the big main are well behaved, giving couples or single handers the freedom to enjoy sailing! Another huge advantage of the Freedom 36 is the fact it has a ‘Unstayed mast” or FREESTANDING mast. This will last the life of the sailboat without worries of replacing the standing rigging.

Accommodations

Forward V-berth stateroom with overhead hatch, built in lockers and drawers and a private entrance to the head compartment.

Spacious head compartment is on the port side and can be accessed from either the main cabin or the forward cabin. There is a marine head, sink and pull-out shower with plenty of elbow room and extra storage behind the vanity countertop.

The main cabin has an L-shaped settee on the port side, and a beautiful bulkhead mounted teak table that folds down and then opens again to seat up to 6. There is more seating across on the starboard side and nice cabinetry and bookshelves outboard of the seats on both sides.

Just aft of the main cabin on the port side of the companionway steps there is a U-shaped galley complete with double stainless sinks, 3-burner stove with oven, and built-in Adler/Barbour refrigerator freezer under the counter. There is plenty of storage and an extra fold-up counter extension for occasions when the chef needs a little extra space.

Across from the galley on the starboard side there is a compact navigation desk with easy access to all of the electrical switches, VHF and SSB radios, etc. They desk has a handy swing-out seat than tucks under the desk when not in use.

Just aft of the nav station is the door to the private aft cabin. This features a generous double quarterberth and beautiful woodwork with excellent built-in cabinetry for storage.
